Some LGBT book recommendations…

Last week I asked on Twitter for some LGBT* book recommendations to kick off LGBT History month and I’ve received SO MANY answers!! I’m so thankful to everyone who took the time to tweet and email their favourite LGBT* books and I’ve embedded the tweets and pasted the email below. Many books to add to your library and many people to follow on twitter / on the blogosphere!

(NB: if you wonder who “my lovely wife” is, it’s Cat Clarke!)

Also the very lovely Cynthia emailed over some recommendations which I’ve pasted below – Cynthia is aย YA & Fantasy Book Blogger and blogs atย Afterwritten, you can find her onย Twitter:ย @afterwritten

The Miseducation of Cameron Post by emily m. danforth: One of my favourite YA books, hands down. So beautiful and absorbing and so frank about female sexuality!
Pantomime by Laura Lam: Bisexual intersex genderqueer MC! In a wonderfully engaging fantasy novel! Amazing.
The Skyscraper Throne trilogy by Tom Pollock: One of the female MCs is a Pakistani lesbian. Itโ€™s an AMAZING urban fantasy trilogy, and this female MC kicks so much ass and she goes through so much and sheโ€™s one of the strongest female characters Iโ€™ve ever encountered. I canโ€™t believe how much I love her.
Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan: For writing about gay history and the effect AIDS had on the older generation of gay people in LGBTQ YA. So moving and heartbreaking.
Not Otherwise Specified by Hannah Moskowitz:ย Itโ€™s out this March, has a bisexual MC, and itโ€™s the first time Iโ€™ve actually seen a character state theyโ€™re bisexual outright in a YA book. Sooo amazing and really portrays the struggles of what itโ€™s like to be a bisexual teenager!
