The Green Carnation Prize 2016 shortlist

The Green Carnation shortlist for 2016 has just been announced and it is amazing!

The Green Carnation Prize seeks to champion the best writing by an LGBTQ author in the UK. It is in its 7th year and is supported by indie bookshop Foyles. It is one of my favourite prizes to follow: aside from the obvious reason of celebrating LGBTQ authors, it always brings together a very eclectic selection of books which I always find exciting.

The shortlist:

  • What Belongs To You by Garth Greenwell
  • A Portable Shelter by Kirsty Logan
  • Augustown by Kei Miller
  • London Lies Beneath by Stella Duffy
  • How To Survive a Plague by David France

I have read (and LOVED) Garth Greenwell’s What Belongs To You and I am looking forward to reading the other books on the list.

The winner will be announced on 22nd May.
